The Champlin design is really lovely and feels so nice in the hand. The set washed up beautifully in the dishwasher. We originally thought that we'd like another more simple design better, but fell in love with Champlin after we tried the sample fork we ordered. We wound up loving Champlin and Kensington surprisingly, after initially thinking we would like a more straight lined, simplified style better. We found the gently rounded curves of Champlin make it feel more comfortable & natural to hold in the hand though. It is interesting to see which designs you wind up loving most after ordering samples to try out. Things you didn't even realize would be a flatware preference become readily apparent when you have different samples to use & compare. I was also comfortable with the Champlin design being less simplified and having some scrollwork since we know the Liberty set won't rust, unlike our recently purchased Oneida set had. Many pieces of our Oneida (Made in Vietnam) set developed rust spots in the grooves where the pattern engravings were, in between the fork tines, and also on the knives. Holding the Champlin flatware next to our Oneida set, it was startling to see and feel the difference in quality. And the Oneida set is only two years old.
