When Oneida Limited® announced the closure of its Sherrill, New York flatware manufacturing operations in 2005, it marked the end of an era for a community built around American craftsmanship. Generations of skilled workers suddenly faced the loss of careers, traditions, and a manufacturing legacy that had existed for more than a century.
Rather than watching those skills disappear, Sherrill Manufacturing was founded to help preserve the American flatware industry and keep those jobs alive in Central New York. From that effort, Liberty Tabletop was born.
Today, Liberty Tabletop proudly remains the only flatware manufacturer producing stainless steel flatware solely in the United States. Every fork, spoon, and knife we create is made in our Sherrill, New York factory by skilled American workers dedicated to preserving the artistry, precision, and craftsmanship of flatware manufacturing.
At the heart of our company is our workforce, the people we proudly consider family. Many of our employees have spent decades mastering their trade, and some come from families who have worked in flatware manufacturing for generations. We believe preserving American manufacturing is about more than producing products.
