Frequently asked questions: |
Q: What is the "black substance" in between the fork tines and sometimes on the edges? |
A: This is residual buffing compound, basically industrial toothpaste, and is not harmful in any way. In order to protect the health and well-being of our customers and employees we do not use dangerous chemicals, such as trichloroethylene, to clean the product after it is buffed. We use a mild soap and water, which sometimes does not remove all of the compound, leaving a residual amount on the pieces. As with all flatware we recommend that product be washed prior to the first use and this should remove any compound left on the pieces. |
