We really wanted to love this pattern, because we wanted to buy high-quality flatware made in the US according to green standards. Alas, the heft of each piece was too light in the hand for our taste. But the company was very accommodating in spite of our mistake. Great core values, and we hope to find a match with Liberty some time down the road.

Without a doubt the best flatware I’ve owned. My mother liked it so much when she came to visit that she asked for a set for Christmas this year. I also bought the baby spoons…so nice to find baby spoons made in the USA since most of them are made in China these days.

I like to buy American made goods. It pains me when I see cheap products made in China (or the like)… I always wonder “why can’t we make that here?”.
I requested the Modern America 45 piece set as a wedding gift. Once received I was so delighted with the product (well made, dishwasher safe, elegant, modern, and American made!)that I ordered the 65 piece set as an add-on.

I received one 5-Piece Place Setting from Liberty Tabletop to review! The 5-piece set that I received was quite beautiful and very shiny, I believe it was the Modern America Flatware that I received. The flatware is a heavy duty set, that is heavier than the majority of flatware, due to it being made of 18-10 stainless steel. My husband loved how each piece is bigger than most flatware, making it easier for him to hang on to. I did notice that, when you use a paper bowl, that the flatware is quite heavy and the bowl will fall over. So, by just hearing that you know that the flatware is very well made and has a good weight to it.

I purchased a 65 piece set of Modern America. It has a beautiful glossy finish and feels silky smooth. It’s a shade darker in color than 18-8 stainless due to the additional nickel content, which makes it even more attractive. The quality is great, and the sizes are generous. The dessert forks are like mini versions of the dinner forks, rather than having shorter tines like our old set. Cute. I purchased new flatware to replace our Pfalzgraf flatware that had rusting knife blades (pretty much from day one), so my #1 criteria in my research was that the knife blades not rust. Apparently knife blades are typically made with a lower percentage of nickel in order to hold their edge. (Keep the knife blades the same as the rest and recommend steak knives for heavy cutting, I say.) Anyway, every other brand I read reviews on (including a $1000 set) had complaints of rusting knife blades. Not Liberty. Full disclosure I’ve had one blade that developed spots after a few trips through the dishwasher. I contacted Liberty and they said it’s a defect (occasionally happens) and are sending a replacement. They assure me the blades are truly dishwasher safe. So I’m very happy with my purchase and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they’re made in the USA.

Build quality and finish are 2nd to none. Weight is perfect. However, teaspoons are too small to be useful for anything other than stirring tea. The tablespoons make great teaspoons, but are too small to swirl spaghetti in, eating chunky soups and so on. Had I been able to see these in person I would not have bought them. But now that I own them I’ll make do. All in all, would definitely recommend Liberty for quality of materials, workmanship, and finish tableware. Just beware of the size issue.

Great quality, handle side is a bit wider than expected for modern America series. Felt awkward at first but have since gotten used to it.
Looked at oneida sets in stores, these are definitely a grade above in quality.
Knife doesn’t balance unfortunately even though it’s hollow. Little disappointing

Very high quality set. They feel very nice in hand and are well finished -beautifuly polished with no sharp edges. I found the price to be competitive even though they’re made in the USA. Look at C&B and you’ll find that you pay as much or more and they’re made in Asia. I recommend taking advantage of the sample program. I was able to get a good feeling for the quality and it helped me decide on the pattern. Liberty’s service is excellent and if you have any issues (I didn’t) your dealing directly with the manufacturer. Can’t do any better than that!

I always search for US Made products when we replace worn out household items. Certainly we could have found a cheaper product, but not at the same quality value using base materials and manufacturing products that aren’t harmful.
